Activities for students coming to Spain
Spanish youngsters share the same aspirations as any others: they wish to be independent, express themselves freely, take part in those activities that fulfill them, and above all, have a good time with their friends.
Any of you who have teenage children know the importance of adult role models at this stage. Doubts, confusion, indecision are some of the issues dealt with during development. Our role as parents, guardians and teachers is to guide and support them in their decisions, so that they may freely choose their futures.
Extracurricular activities play an important part in the students’ personal growth, as they allow them to develop those areas of knowledge where they feel strongly motivated or that peek their curiosity.
Within our exchange program, students may continue doing the same activities that they do in their own country or try new experiences. Youngsters usually have a favourite sport, musical instrument or style of dance that they enjoy. Language learning while abroad is reserved regularly for the Spanish language. Singing, drama and volunteering are also important. In the table below you may find some activities available in the program.
It is not all about regulated activities though. Our students also enjoy multiple group and family activities to immerse in the Spanish culture. Local festivities are a highlight, such as “las Bodas de Isabel de Segura,” the infamous Medieval festival in Teruel. During Easter Week, some choose to go sightseeing inside and outside Spain, visiting some of the most important cities of the old continent. Excursions to the most beautiful villages in Spain, a day at the beach with the best Valencian paella or a day in Puerto Venecia, one the biggest shopping malls in Europe, are some of the experiences that Canadian youngsters may enjoy in our country.
We do not only consider our program a student exchange, but also a life experience which will leave an imprint on their development and allow them to better choose their future. All the socio-cultural activities are supervised by our team of educators in order to make sure that the students get the most out of their experience.
If you want to check how much fun our students actually have, you should take a look at the pictures and videos below. An image is worth more than a thousand words!
